    Thanks Kristen,

And I thought I was special. :rolleyespink:

    [hr]

I trekked through Brazil and up the Amazon and then ended up at Devil's Island. Then escaped from there and travelled through the Caribbean to Florida. My flight has just been called at Miami airport. Fortunately I happen to be there. :heehee:

You are mate! Your Butternut Squash are far tastier than any I have had anywhere else, and so say all the people to whom I have given one.

And I am pretty sure you told me you thought they were bland and not particularly exciting ...

You know what's coming next? I might need some more seed mate (and now that I've said this so will the rest of Blighty!!!!)

They were very tasty but unfortunately they didn't grow very well last year so I don't have any seed :frown:. I can't get any more, unless I can find someone that I gave the seeds to, as they were an un-named variety that we were trialling. :oopss:

I have a couple of seeds left - 3rd year, hopefully they will still germinate.

I have fruit too ... but I grew an F1 CobNut nearby (waste of time, by comparison) and they may have cross-fertilized - blinking promiscuous Squashes and Marrows etc. But I'm happy to scoop some seed out of the next one we have for Sunday lunch if you want to risk it?

If mine germinate I will do the full protected-sex thing to get a pure parent (which I have been meaning to do for the last two years ...)

Then I can sell you some seed back :D :D :D

Which list are you on? Risking some from a fruit that might have cross-pollinated with the CobNut next door?

Or some seed next year when I've had a crack at getting a pure bred?

    Both is OK too :thumb:

You're just like all the other parents - thinking your perfect Squashes would never be so promiscuous!

I could do with some guidance on what I do to the "pips" once scooped. I expect they need washing to get all the fruit off, and then drying with layers of kitchen paper or somesuch?

No rush, we've got months worth in storage, and sowing-day is a fair while away.

(And PM me your address too when you have a moment please)
