Have just realised why I had trouble with avatars.... you have to add a new post before they show. Oh dear, sad woman... :D :( :D

still problems with avatar, pic appears in select avatar box edited profile but does not appear on posts, help!!

 

I found that if my custom made avatar exceeded the allowed file size it was rejected with no explanation when I tried to upload.
Check the size. If you in doubt about doing things correctly you could try selecting one of pre-made avatars and uploading that. If it works you've been doing the right thing and your custom avatar is probably exceeding the limits set for this site.

It may be a stupid questions stronglylodon - but after it has appeared in the edit profile window, have you gone to the bottom of the page and clicked update profile. Its something I've forgotton to do on a few occasions. :eek:
