awful --please help !

    Yea, sorry forgot to mention that Paul.

    I strung wires up behind them, attached to the fence. As they started branching out I tied them in along the wires whilst they were still soft and pliable..loosely of course, just to get them used to going in a sideways direction.

    New shoots from the branching naturally wish to grow upright, but fortunately they are not quick growing, so once a week or a fortnight was enough to keep an eye on them.

    Of course when the lateral branches have thickened up, you can let the new shoots grow upright so that the fence is completely shielded.

    It's well worth doing I can tell you. The end result is loads of flowers and berries. :thumb:
