Sadly when we went today two more had gone, there was a head and a dead one which t'other half removed when Beija came out to eat. :cry3: It's only Cruz left now and we are just praying he will be there tomorrow when we go, because if he survives we will keep him/her. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Incredible, I never knew mother cats did that. I hope Cruz is still OK.

Sal, that I know of, the other cats (three male, one female) haven't gone near her or where we have located her in secret (although I am sure they could sniff her out!

Thank you John ... I am pleased to report that Cruz was alive and squiggling about on the CCTV. So now we will take each day as it comes with him. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

It sounds like you're on an emotional rollercoaster Victoria! Fingers crossed for Cruz! Our neighbours cat (also only a kitten herself) used to bring her two kittens round to play in our woodshed a couple of years ago while she went off to get some peace and quiet! We spent hours watching their antics. Good luck!!

Too true Lorea and what beauties you had to babysit. They are called Tigres here (Tabbies to the rest of us). All our lot are Tigres except the brother of Beija who is a stunning ginger and white (called yellow and white here ... doh!).

Thank you for your good wishes ... the caravan/cabin is in a peaceful environment on a private riverside campsite with only six permanent/statics and they can take about a dozen 'tourers' in season on six levels up the hillside (we are level four). It's only 23kms (30 minutes give or take) from us. Here is our plot marked out so the ferals (not including Cruz at the moment) have a lovely place to roam ... plus there is the Yacht Club belonging to the property on the river (bottom left) which has a swimming pool and the owners live in the 'big house' with two apartments underneath ...

The pictures were taken from across the river today ... sorry, I see cropping in it is not so clear and worse still I have a smudge on the lens ...

Beija brought Cruz into the van today and here is a video t'other half took on my camera ..

It was incredible and Beija's brother Rui came in and inter-acted with them ... I have pics but haven't had time to put up here but will do tomorrow.

What a lovely peaceful scene . The little one will grow strong without competition from brothers and sisters,
              thank you Victoria

:frown: Sadly I have to report that we discovered Cruz dead today, but I won't go into detail. Beija was constantly going around and in the caravan obviously looking for him.

Here are a couple of the photos I took on Sunday of he/she, Beija and Beija's brother Rui ..

It would have been a difficult life for him in the hills so perhaps this is for the best. He had long fur so would have been a beauty. Feel rather weepy.

RIP Little Babe Cruz xx :cry3::cat-kittyandsmiley:
