Can anyone recommend an evergreen plant to go round the side of the pond??? We had a new pond put in last September, but it is so open as no plants have grown yet, but I was hoping to put something around the edges so there will be something for the frogs to shelter in around the edges and encourage them to spawn. At the moment, it is just gravel and liner......

hi honey bee, Pete hex or Walnut will be able to help you here but I would have thought oxyginators grow all through the year and that should sort your problem.

not sure of my spelling but we have Elodia crispa and we have a healthy pond of fish and frogs which also gives air to the ponds, we have never had any problem with the fish or frogs

Are we talking, "in the water" or round the outside of the pond HB.
If its in the water then not much will be growing at the moment, but as Macleaf says elodia is a good oxygenator and forms rafts that frogs and small fish love to hide in.
