Everyone else on this forum is quite happy to show pictures of their garden and I doubt they ever worry about privacy.

Yes but the difference is here is that with the photos I could be identified, I mean I could actually take a photo of the fence on its own but thats about it, I cant risk my identity with taking photos of the surrounding area etc as other people looking at this website could easily Identify me if they noticed the photos, it isnt exactly very difficult to identify my house, garden etc from photos like that, and I know there is litrally no chance that neighbours would be on here looking, but you never know, you understand what I mean ?

Think about it, its a 3ft fence, I thought it was 4ft, but its 3ft, I measured it, its a simple wooden slat panel fence, the slats go up and down the way (vertical) and they have about a 1 inch gap between each slat, there is posts every 5ft or so concreted into the ground that the fence is nailed onto and the slats also have 2 horizontal strengthening slats going along , 1 near the bottom and 1 near the top, in other words as I keep saying, its a simple standard wooden slatted fence that you see in a million houses everyday, but if you want an actual picture of the fence with no surrounding picture shown then that is not a problem as I mentioned to you before, but I think the explantation speaks for its self, i have a good camera, so just let me know if you want to see some planks of wood, dont know what its going to prove to you personally but if it makes you happy then no problem.

Ok why don't you try this stuff, bamboo screening, it probably won't cost much more than weedkiller and spray pumps. Looks ok and is easily attached to the exsisting fence. Bamboo Screening

Hi all, I moved house 4 yrs ago because of a neighbour and his 12 ft diameter trampoline placed right up to the boundry fence, not that I suggest you should move.

We moved into a lovely place and were very happy until recently.
        I will begin:

Shortly after moving in I asked my adjoining neighbour if he minded me trimming back his tree which was overhanging my south facing garden by at least 10 ft, blocking out the sun. He said it was fine to do so until he saw how much came off, it's not as if we completley sheared half away, we did the neighbourly thing and went round and apologised if he was upset. He seemed ok but hasn't spoken since.

Neighbour 2 took issue when I recently erected a willow screen,6x3, to give a little privacy on the patio. when he saw it going up he said "That had better not spoil my view". I proceeded to erect the fence and asked his wife if the view was blocked to which she replied"A little". I then decided to reposition said screen, giving me as much privacy as before and not blocking his view. His wife said the screen was just right and she was more than happy. When I spoke to him about it he said that if any of my plants block his view he will 'Make sure nothing grows there'. Needless to say we don't speak anymore.

        Back to neighbour 1.

I have planted a row of cypress gold conifers along the boundry between the front gardens as there was nothing there but a 2 brick high boundry wall. The trees are now 3ft high and looking well. What is now happening is he has started parking his car in a different position and backs it into his drive and doesn't stop until he feels resistance from the trees which don't overhang his land meaning he backs some 6 ins into my land, certain he is doing it deliberately. he does move forward slightly but why do it in the first place. When I first saw him do it I thought it was an accident but I have seen him on several occasions since actually stop the car and then move it again. My wife is livid and would love to go round and say something but I have asked her to leave it and wait and see if he actually lifts one of the trees, the reason being that he probably wants me to bite, as I have told my wife, I don't get mad I get even.

We are,in my opinion, a decent respectful couple who want a quiet life.

Only talking about the annual stuff, there are plenty of hedges around us & I feed the birdies all winter, even the snoring pidgeon.

        Hello Pip

Neighbour problems seem to be on the increase, don't they? Many of us have to live so close to others now and people take it very, very personally if you do anything which they feel invades their patch, even if it is as simple as trimming a tree. It must be particularly galling if you've already moved because of the neighbours! Every now and then we think: 'Thats it! We're moving!' only to hear stories from friends who thought they had moved to posher neighbourhoods only to find that they had inherited The Neighbours From Hell.

I wish there was some kind of fail-safe solution. Every now and then when I'm out in the Kent countryside I see little signs at the side of rural roads saying 'This Is A Quiet Lane'. I must admit that when I first saw them I thought they were the height of pretension. 'Oh yeah,' I thought. It must get really rowdy around Plaxtol.' Now, however, I'm warming to the idea. You might get like-minded souls who just want a bit of peace. On the other hand, they might well be chronic busy-bodies. At least no one cares what I do or don't do in my road. Also, 'quiet lane' people might be just the type to turn nasty about trees or hedges, just as your neighbours have done, Pip.

On reflection I think a small offshore island might be the only solution. :D

I wouldnt care so much if It was farmers fields all the way round my garden as I would have moved there expecting the problems with that, but its living next door to idiots who just dont give a toss that really get on my breasts (keeping the language clean, lol).

I'll have a word with my mate Richard and see whether he will let you use Necker Island. :WINK1: :heehee:

For those of you that are on the "Sqashquito" thread I'll ask him for the use of Moskito Island. :loll:

Ziggy, he's done a fantastic job with the plastic bottles :dbgrtmb:

I came across a smaller use of plastic bottles when I was staying up in the Brazillian forest in the mountains in Brazil in December. This was our luxury villa :heehee:

Parts of the walls were made from plastic bottles.
