I think this is a very valid point raised in this thread. It's always best to be as inclusive as possible & dyslexia is a very obvious issue for a place where the written (typed) word is the most predominant thing. Dyslexia obviously takes many forms; someone very close to me has an issue with lowercase words with stalks, ie d,b,g,q,p, which way the stalk is. Typed words are more a benefit in that case than the written word. But not everyone's dyslexia is like that, for those who have dyslexia. Colours can also be an issue, FYI...

No, Big A, I do not know better than you and I do appreciate that there are threads non-gardening related to which I have contributed ... and even started ... and I did think I was a person of patience and tolerance (certainly my work demanded it) but I do not see where this one is coming from or going to ... sorry! Perhaps I should continue to read and read INTO what is being said ... in the meantime, I will continue to read my Kathy Reichs books which I understand ...

:) Spell checker helps me a lot ... but having said that I often do not see the wiggly line under misspelled words (Why? I have no idea, it should be easy enough to see ... but I put it down to the same issue that prevents me seeing the same word spelled differently on the page)

I suspect also that, for someone normal like you, if I spell a word wrongly you probably don't notice. If you pay more attention :D I'm sure you will find plenty of misspellings in my posts ... no doubt, from now on, you'll start seeing them left, right and centre!

I've know of children, these days, who suffer from dyslexia and are given coloured glasses - as the change of colour helps them in class etc. For music dyslexia (which makes it very hard to read sheet music) I've know teachers colour each line of the stave differently - probably not unlike some of that psychedelic music of the '60s :)

            Summary :) :

Various points of view on how acceptable foul language is (part of life's rich tapestry :) )

Dyslexic people (and perhaps some that don't consider themselves dyslexic) would find it easier if words that fall foul of the ... ermmmm ...Foul :D Word Filter are not just silently replaced with a, sometimes cryptic, replacement - to wit a visual indicator / symbol / etc. could be used as an indication.

Did I miss anything out? :spinning:

I get that wrong every single time. And that is in the full knowledge that I get it wrong every single time ... and thus I attempt to turn the letters round to anticipate what the spell checker is going to tell me ... I never succeed though, which I find annoying. Its up there along with "Why is Dyslexia so hard to spell" :heehee:

                Amen to that :)

Fuchsia "Diana Wright" is a pretty little thing, dyslexically speaking :heehee:
