So Ohio, is a spud producer as well.

I'm only guessing, you tell me which states produce potatoes.:thumb:

Well don't think OHIO is a major spud producer as well known as Idaho--however I was remarking that in Ohio the winters come early and spring late my dad in his little garden was able to produce potatoes. Thus to reply to the climate concern earlier. Ohio does produce lots of crops it is an open flat land close to Indiana also open flat land.

    .

My mother-in-law says, and I quote; Ayrshire potatoes are the best in the world!
And like all wimmin, she is always right, even when she is wrong, ask Hariet Harperson!

These are the potatoes I have come across, Jersey, Comber and Pembroke are all earlies, Ayrshire are main crop, so I suspect are Idaho?

    Ayrshire potatoes (Scotland) = Epicure
    Jersey Royals = International Kidney
Comber (Northern Ireland = No name
    Pembroke ((Wales) = No name
Idaho (US of A) = No name!

    Best kept secrets.

    Follow up!

Just remembered reading in the Sunday papers that the missionaries locked up in Haiti came from Idaho.
On reading the article again, it said they were from Meridian where the POTATO and SUGAR BEET grow in the fields east of "The snow capped Rockies".

Looked up Meridian, Ohio and Chester county on Google, but could not see you out in your garden!

    Cheers!
