You like ? With your instruction I recon I did pretty well. The excess came off a treat with my trusty stanley blade. Just need to hide the runners with a couple of liners and some paint and I think I can say job done. The door is soooo cool, and the heat in my fish room is now a constant range of 18 - 20 degrees unheated even during the recent cold. Truth be told I dont use the front door anymore, I like to press the button and have the door open for me :D

I'm pleased to see your bamboo has white tips on it, BM, as we've noticed ours does and wondered if it was our sun! :confused:

We always pray for rain in the winter (some more due starting tomorrow) so ... "I'll say a little prayer for you" ...

 

Yes they shed a degree of old foliage it seems. Haven't had this on the shaded grown ones but where water is in demand, grown by a cherry tree for goodness sake :rolleyes: they are held back and show leaf stress. I love the bamboos but my god they are messy with leaf and husk drop.

 

Fantastic as always BM - good idea to get your new garage door done in the Autumn - now you'll have all winter to play with it

 

Its nice to have the drafty up and over door gone, plus I have some massive pots to go in front which I don't intend moving and this would not be possible with anything other than a roller. Mini BM likes to press the remote when we go and come home from nursery

Thanks MF, loads left to do. I cant see the grass for fallen leaves at the moment so i really must get the mower out for one last cut.

I am looking forward to the trees going to sleep so I can do some more shaping. But they seem too awake at the moment for a good prune. :confused:

No pain no gain. Its the only successfull way to keep them flowering. What I would really like is a dome to erect itself from the boundary each year to enclose me

You already look to have a successful micro climate, it all looks fantastic! anyway it would be a pretty dull place without the seasons.

 

BM - perhaps we should get Tim Smit interested in your dome idea :D :D

 

I have seen mini eden domes for hot tubs and swimming pools, I would love one for the bananas. Maybe in my next jungle garden ? :D
