    Oh and I did get a couple of 4' apple trees from Aldi a couple of month ago (not sure they are still selling them) for £3.99 (Cox and Elder) they also had plum, peach and cherry I think plus other varieties of apple.

    My garden centre's tree's are around £15/17 but a foot or so taller.

    I saw a Euonymus Bravo shrub in a trendy GC near me at £29.99 . I found a good example in my favourite GC at £19.99 . Just seen a slightly smaller one in Wilkos this morning for £5.98 :gaagh:
    At the moment they seem to have a lot of nice shrubs and plants in very good condition, but being Wilkos I am sure they wont keep them like that for long !

    They arrived today. 3Kg (both bags)/40 tubers of sarpo Mira for £2. Plus there was a free copy of 'Garden News' in the box!

    Car booting this morning I bought bought ten pkts of Suttons Safari fine 'Kenyan' french bean, 4x use by 2011 @ 50p and 6x use by 2010 @10p each, so £2.60 for ten packs when one costs £2.55. I'm not paticullaly concerned about that use by date as I regularly successfully germinate saved french bean seed 6 years old.

    So loads of fine beans to snip the ends off with scissors, boil, then drain & fry with garlic before serving either as a side veg or by themselves with some grated cheese. Plus plenty of plants to save seeds from so it won't cost me anything for several more years.

    Wlikos are selling 6 x 2m of Extra heavy duty woven weed control fabric for £5.98 (50p/square metre) - They've reduced it by 25%.

    Weighing 148g/square metre it's not only a lot heavier than the 'heavy duty' stuff on e-Bay (108g/m2), but it's also cheaper per square than buying a 50m roll!

    EDIT: I just poured some water on the Wilkos stuff and it doesn't seem to go through. Hmmm, well it does say mulch on the bag.

    Wilkos seed potatoes and onion setts are now all 50% off instore.

    Being only 69p it tempted me to buy yet another net of setts to grow as approx 100 'spring onions':

    Walking past our local florist today I saw they were selling off some Dahlia Dark Angels, a few weeks ago when they were first in and in full flower they were £2.95 each, now because they haven't been dead headed they have stopped flowering (there are more buds coming though) and are being sold off at 50p each; they are nice sized plants in 6" pots so I bought three :D :thumb:

    They also had some Zantedeschia in various colours that just a week or so ago were £6.95 each in 1lt pots, they are now being sold off at £1; they are still flowering but have a few yellow leaves, perhaps they just need some water as they were a little wilted. Might just pick a couple up tomorrow :D

    Well as promised I nipped back to the florist today and picked up a lovely Zantedeschia 'Florex Gold' for £1 instead of £6.95; it's a nice healthy specimen with approx 6 or 7 flowers....:thumb:

    Not surprisingly this was one of only about 6 they had left, yesterday they must have had about 50 out on the plant trolley!!

    I've not even bothered pulling one the few seed sown spring onions that have germinated during the drought this year, as those grown from cheap, reduced setts have kept us supplied all year.

    This is it on T&M's website;

    Also picked up a well branched Fuschia Lady Boothby in a 1lt pot, and about 18" tall for £1;

    Homebase have 3 kg boxes of 'Organic' chicken poo pellets reduced to £3.93 on BOGOF plus there's 15% off this weekend, making it the equivalent of £5.57 (+ Nectar points) for 10 Kg (OK, so you don't get a 10 kg size plastic bucket, but I've got so many of them now I don't know what to do with them).
