Thanks Beckie :) we're used to it here but not usually in June. I'm in tonight, the heating's on and I'm looking forward to pulling the curtains later.

Is it Spruce, I hadn't noticed! :doh:It's still April here, no, correction, this is last Octobers weather. :rolleyespink: :)

At the moment it's not quite as bad as predicted winds up to 50 mph and heavy down pours, it's breezy and the rain is constant with an odd heavy patch def not a down pour though,,

I've managed to get several containers/potted plants back into the greenhouse, there's around 10 still left out, but alas they too heavy for me to move, so hopefully will stay put....

Not relishing getting up extra earlier tomorrow morning for my drive to work, gonna have to take care over the Quantocks which not only gets a real battering in windy weather due to how high it's above sea level, so lots of tree's in the hedges of the country lanes I'm on, and woods to get through as well...

Even though you're expecting tree's and branches to be down, still doesn't mean you're going avoid them, hit a tree earlier this year, couldn't see it down nor poking out into the road as being blinded by a van's headlights, until it was too late, fortunately it didn't do any damage or break my windscreen but the bang gave me hell of a fright...

Not nearly as bad as forecast, but if I'd planted out cougettes, tomatoes, runner beans, etc., they would've lost all their leaves and had their stems snapped for good measure. Planting out day is going to be Thursday.

Plans for fishing trip to either West Somerset or Chesil Beach this week now cancelled.

This tiny little island, reading all these posts and yet, like Pete, it's only breezy outside but very dull and the rain's not arrived yet.
I did notice this evening though, the birds have been visiting the sunflower hearts feeder a lot more than most days.
Maybe they sense tomorrow's not going to be very easy?

40mph here in Northampton, my garden is pretty sheltered by a park behind with large trees all along, now that they all have leaves on it should be a great wind breaker. That is as long as one of the trees doesnt fall down :)

Phew! Thankfully there's not much damage. The self seeded mimulus has lost most of it's flowers and they're all over the place along with other debris. When the rain stops I'll go out side and tidy up a bit. The wind is due to pick up again here this afternoon. We still have a yellow weather warning so I'll leave the hanging baskets in the shed for now.

Apart from a few branches down I can't see much damage - lots of bins and their contents blown all over the road, it was like a slalom down our road first thing.

Very windy here yesterday , dragged my containers into a sheltered position . The hanging baskets at the front are in the garage . The bird table blew over and bits dropped off it ! It has forecast it being a breezy force 5 this afternoon , so things are staying protected until tomorrow !
