Got the chainsaw sharpened with petrol + oil & chain oil ready together with various bow saws and a few axes. Just jigsawed up another few pallets. I'll get the generator and leads ready over the weekend. Got a few gas stoves, a propane boiler ring and a Kelley Kettle. All that leaves is to make sure all camera/laptop/tablet/Mifi batteries (including spares) are charged.

    Have I missed anything?

I'll see how dangerous that might be before I venture out Scrungee. A fisherman was killed in Hastings in the October 1987 storm when he was hit by flying debris,

It's neap tides on Monday (third-quarter moon), so the least worst time for it.

But still maybe something to watch on a coastal web cam from the comfort of home? http://www.beaming.biz/hastings-pier-webcam.asp (force refresh to update)

Or Chesil Beach viewed from Portland webcam?

If this storm does hit on Monday, maybe those of around here could have a bit of a 'stormwatch' using webcams, posting reports/pics on this thread?

P.S. There's been a constant banging all day here, the sound of worried people nailing loose fence panels.

That would be very interesting although if anybody does decide to go out and take pics, please do be careful. :)

It looks like I'm going to miss the worst of it up here, even though the island suffers a blasting from time to time. I know how scary it is as I was living in Essex in 1987 and there was damage all around.

Look after yourselves everyone please. :grphg:

In that case, all you are missing is a pipeline from your house to mine, a couple of valves and a few pumps......... :ideaIPB::heehee:

Aye, just a bit Loli. Making my cigarette smoking a challenge I tell thee. I'm gonna write a strongly worded letter to my MP about this!
