Bees can see ultra violet and pick up channel 5 better than a digibox.

:wow: so many cool facts! the only one we knew is the UV one. Think we saw it on Richard Hammond's Invisible Worlds.

:ThankYou: all, I will let you know which one she chooses to use (that's if she doesn't replace her current facts with all of them :heehee: )

How about this one. Bumblebees often build their nests in abandoned mouse holes.

Or, bumblebees are very short sighted and navigate more from memory and smell than by vision, so when one goes near my sister and she needlessly and foolishly panics, the bee will often seem aggressive because it becomes agitated, but in fact it is just trying to figure out how to get away because its found itself engulfed in a cloud of adrenaline vapour which it associates with danger, but it can't see the threat or work out the best way to escape:)

Too true, I had some bumble bees nesting under the front door, if the door was left open it really messed up their navigation.

Bees are only tuned into the American Global Positioning Satelites, they cannot access the Russian ones.

If a bee gets stuck in a car & taken too far from its hive, it will go to another hive & ask to join.
Is this really true Ziggy. It's very sweet. Do the new hive inmates let him or her in?

More bee stuff, beekeepers in France were puzzled when the honey came out green & blue.

Turns out the bees had found the waste bin at a nearby M&M factory:snork:

she used the ultra violet, bee gone too far from its hive, workers deciding what the hive does & cuckoo bees facts. I think she pretty much rewrote what she'd already done! :heehee:

That's very interesting and explains why its difficult to get them out of the house once they are in. I keep a child's fishing net handy for rescue and release purposes.
