It can be any type of materal, Feathers, hay, straw, cotten, fur, as long as it is dry and warm for them. I know they dont like wool. That looks like cotton balls?

That looks good DaveIHG but pricey! I was most upset one hot summer when I distrbed a heap of grass etc [compost material but dried out] and a couple of big bees were bumbling around for ages trying to find their homes.
we had an entire brood of them in the blue-tits' nesting box one year!! Bit of a surprise, when we set up the cameras to watch that year!! :D
