Hi guys, thanks for the comments, been trying to take it all in. I reckon I might give hydroponics a miss if they're not quite as nutritious and it might turn out to be more expensive.

So in terms of fertiliser, I bought some of this: Miracle Grow - gro your own - fruit and veg. It says to mix a cap with 4.5 litres of water but I'm just tending a few tiny seedlings at the mo, so I put in 1/4 of a cap into my 1 litre pump sprayer.

I sewed a few seeds and sprayed a bit on those, plus (seeing as mint is almost impossible to grow from seed) I bought a mint plant from Aldi, repotted it and sprayed some on that.

    Thoughts? I literally am guessing.
