                  Here's another couple of positives.

They can save you money, I call using an app over wifi which costs nothing. This means you can ditch your landline.

Ever been in an area with no reception? Provided there is wifi you can still receive and make calls. This is good for me as my son's house has no coverage for my network, but wifi calling solves the problem.

Dont think I've ever been out of range:scratch:

OH I get what you mean, no signal?

Well yes that can happen but mostly in built up areas you are ok, if not your no worse off than without one.

The only time I can't get GPS on my phone is indoors or in a tunnel. It's not like the phone network coverage that can come and go, GPS comes straight from satellites and covers all the UK

Doesn't your mobile service cost money?

There is poor wifi coverage out this way (has improved over the last couple of years) as well as, regularly, no internet coverage due to power cuts. We had 17 power cuts last year, some of them fairly short ones, and only 11 so far this year. We get the usual range of excuses but the two main ones are trees taking down power cables or substation problems :th scifD36:. At least the landlines work - with an old fashioned plug in phone.

LANDLINE? Never heard of it! Ditched that many years ago. First got a connection via the laptop and now a simple cheap mobile phone. I would not go back to a landline for anything.
