We have a Beko condensor tumble dryer (Mr Mum's recent purchase). Seems it needs a slight "modification".

I'm not concerned that it needs a slight (10 minute) modification; what I *am* disgruntled about is the manner in which the UK "engineers" are going about (or rather *not*) fulfilling this requirement ... and please, don't get me started on the blatant lies they have told us regarding who should phone whom/when the docket was sent/or when (IF!) they will get around to doing it!!! That particular ball lies firmly on UK soil ;)

Its a good thing that the manufacturing is returning here, both environmentally and economically - I would just prefer to see that coupled with a return to high quality products and the el-cheapo stuff being eliminated.

Its funny isn't it - its only when you try to explain it in simple terms that you really see what a ridiculous situation it is to send materials halfway around the world to be assembled and then sent back.

They sound very poorly organised, and not at all what you should be expecting in terms of service. Vote with your money next time, and don't buy their product.

We have a Beko washing machine and a Beko dishwasher. Both bought on price, the dishwasher is carp, but the washing machine is ok, not brill, but ok. You do get what you pay for, so didn't expect the best. Had Bosch before and they were great. When these wear out, ( next week probably!!) I won't replace with Beko.

i had the Flaval cooker but have literally just changed it to a range one :hate-shocked: i hadnt had any contact from the company and i had registered etc at time of purchase it was the 60 model not the 50 as in the warning notice but still a worrying thought

but on u get what you pay for i would dipute that ... i spent a furtune on a hotpoint many moons ago ( approx £500 20 yrs back !!!) when they were meant to be one of the better machine i recall thinking that it would last ....... i had nothing but trouble with the darn thing everthing and i mean everything was replaced except the external casing ! i was kinda of lucky because i had bought from a local company not a chain, and they helped Fight hotpoint to the end ... i eventually bought a cheap make and i honestly have had no problems with it at all!

Sadly Kaz, Hotpoint are the Beko of the UK - Hotpoint, Indesit and Candy are all the same company nowadays, and their stuff is mediocre at best.

The really sad bit is that choice of real quality stuff has reduced remarkably over the years - Zanussi are now part of Electrolux, and both have cheapened their product to a degree (although they are still a better prospect than some of the others)

Don't get me wrong - you can occasionally get a cracker of a product really cheaply, just the same as you can occasionally get a really terrible model from one of the really good brands (I've seen some real howlers from Sony, Philips and Panasonic over the years) - as a general rule though, if you buy the absolute cheapest then you are almost certainly going to have a shorter lifespan from it.
