No, there was a 4 inch long slug curled round the top of the can, so when I went to drink it I thrust it straight into my mouth.

I suppose it would only be like drinking a weak tequila! :snork:

Beer traps dont work here. Slugs wont drink Swedish beer, they have better taste than that! :snork:

I wonder what's in it that attracts them Joolz? It looks like the hedgehogs have got starters and main course all in one.

Cheeky devil! :heehee: You'll have to use an earthenware dogs bowl, it'll be to heavy for him to pick up. :)

This will frighten you all. The slugs I mentioned in my earlier posts are becoming a huge problem here. not only because of their size - they can grow to a length of 18cm, but also the amount of them.

There was a feature on the local news. Some gardeners about 20 miles south of me have been killing (they claim!) between 6 and 7000 each day in a single garden. Understandable if each one can produce 400 offspring a time.

Had to laugh at one woman who was maybe 70 years old. She kills them by cutting them in two with secateurs, and calls it "slug gymnastics" due to the excercise it gives her. :snork:

Its only £4 from Pets at Home . Has anyone else tried this ?

I tried the secateur method last night.

Cut the first ones i saw in two. Then had a beer as I waited. soon, their friends came along to eat them. They got clipped. Then another beer. Everything was repeated a couple of times. Two results. 1) Lots of slugs were exterminated, and 2) slugs cause headaches! :snork:

As you've discovered they like animal biscuits! another trap is to leave a plateful of cheap cat biscuit out and then pop back periodically over the night and kill them. I used to water the lawn and then pop out around 10pm with a torch and stab and crunch for hours...
