Yeah, I always use this. Whilst probably not the best, it's always been consistent and certainly good enough for my needs. I normally sieve it for seed sowing and find that germination is good.

I have bought the 125L size only once ! What a time getting them in the car and out of the car into the garage . Its the 75litre size for me . I can get two under each arm and balance one on my head :snork:

My local garden centre will deliver free but even then I find I waste loads from the big bags by spilling it either when I open them or when I move the open bags around.

When I buy these big bags of Verve I get someone at B&Q to put them in the car and when I get home place the wheelbarrow alongside the boot and drag it into that. I can then tip it out where I want it to go. :)

As I have a bad back and a bad arm  (plus, lots of other bits falling apart :heehee:) the staff at Wickes are used to loading my car for me. I use anything between 60 and 80 of the 70 litre bags each season and the staff are used to me :old:. They normally ask me when I walk in whether I want the compost. I make a lot of trips there (on my way shopping) as I buy them four at a time.

Although I can't put them on the trolleys or lift them off (too low) I can get them out of the boot of my car (I could do it quite easily but I'd not be able to move the next day!). The boot is high so I don't have to bend :blue thumb: and I can carry one under my good arm. Then I can just drop it wherever Mrs Shiney needs it. :)

I use the B&Q one called Verve, I've never had any complaints tbh, but I'm not as skilled at the gardening business as a lot of you, but not much dies (unless I forget to water it, which isn't the composts fault!)

Hi just got back from the garden center , bought Jack Magic 60 ltr £5.50 and buy two get one free "mangers special " for the weekend only .

I have opened the bag up, its the best I have seen in years and looks similar to when I make my own mix up . Does look like it has a lot of sand in the mix but I quite like that as it stops it going clumpy. The only thing is it says it can do it all seeds potting on etc :dunno:

I've done well so far seed wise with it - much less claggy then I have had in the past, and the plants seem to like it; germination has been swift too.

If you need a large quantity of compost, B and Q are doing an offer for 2 x 125 litre bags for £10 for 4 days only from Friday 4th April. Normal price is £6.73 each. Cheap per litre and decent reviews for the Verve compost.

4p/litre is a good price, even better than you'd get if you had access to a 10% on Wednesdays card.
