My goodness £6 to go into a car boot !

No the normal fee is 50p each some places it's even free to go in, never in my life have I paid more than £1 to get into a car boot and I have been to a get many around the country. Like most things you need to go early to get the best stuff be it plants or collectables.

One place to look for car boots in your area is a web site called www.carbootjunction.com
Good luck and happy hunting and remember it's a car boot so you can haggle over the price too like i do all the time.Hel.xxx.

What a brilliant way to introduce yourself to neighbours !!! Go and admire their work and scrounge!!! You will learn a lot if you ask where it should go In your new garden and how to look after it.

It has worked for me for years the list of trades is endless now I'm actually giving.

i started prowling round my local focus last december and bought loads of plants for 49p, all perrenials because as we all know they die down over the winter and they don`t look very good, i bought a blue angel clematis and its now about 6ft with flower buds on,
i love rescuing plants i think i prefer it to buying a plant allready at its full potential
it gives me immense pleasure to see them in full bloom after being neglected, :D

Well to give you an example I paid 95p for a full rack of about 20 sweetcorn plants today from the local indoor market (and when I say I, of course I mean my Mrs) :D

It's the sellers that have to pay £6 to get in. And each sale varies - depends who turns up. The organisers have no control over that, of course.

Paying to get into a car boot? I've never paid anything ever to get into a car boot! (jumble sales and fates are different...) They charge the sellers maybe £6.00 to get in but i think i would politely explain were they could get off if they were charging:mad: (unless it was going to a charity or something). any way back on to plants i remember when i went with a friend to a car boot last year and she bought two 70yr old bonsai tree's in large terracotta pots for £5.00 and she then went and joined a bonsai club and they told her that the tree's were worth at least £300 each! i couldn't believe it i was just speechless (and that doesn't happen very often i can tell you:rolleyes:)

Standard practise to charge sellers a pitch fee I thought ?

Also look out for summer fetes and village open days. Have a bash at seeds too:)
