Thank you Scrunge for the tip..... to get it delivered would be a blessing - even if it costs an extra penny. At the moment I have a stash of ''peat plus'' that I had delivered for mulching purposes (a full pallet) This stuff smells a bit farmyard manure ish, but mixed with good topsoil it makes a good medium.
I got this from a dealer on ebay from Norfolk.

I thought Bunnings had taken over all the Homebase stores so I'm confused why there are prices differences between Homebase and Bunnings stores

They have but are gradually converting the stores. I think they've only done about seven of them so far. They have a bigger range of stock, prices are lower and they cram things in more. The aisles are narrower, they have no bags for smaller items (or big ones) but keep boxes near the check-outs for you to use.

I remember when Office World became Staples. On my travels I saw a really nice office world branded executive chair for half price. I was miffed when I discovered my local branch didn’t have any.

Our Homebase is as we speak changing to Bunnings.
Almost next door is a brand new Wicks soon to open..........Good competition.
                    Looking forward to both.

I have just started using our Wickes store more and more . The prices are competitive with Screwfix and you don't have to walk 2 miles like the B and Q mega store.
I have decided on my MPCs for this year, at last . I'll use the Gro-Sure seed compost to start the seeds. For pricking out into cells and 3" pots I'll use the recommended Jack's Magic . For the bulk containers and pots in May it will be Wickes MPC. Now don't try to change my mind ! :)

If it's any consolation to you, Staples had to close their stores last year and are now only on line.

Just come back from Longwell Green, Bristol Homebase and they've got 30% off all compost.

Bought Jacks Magic (60L) for £4.88.
                                John Innes No3 (30L) for £3.49.

Sad that they've got rid of the plant section.
