I've tried nipping his nose. he moves away, snorts, & carries on snoring :doh:I had a couple of sleeping pills last night so I did get some rest, finally!

I got an email from coke. amongst the rubbish, they said they'll send packaging so i can send them the glass. and all their glasses are made in TURKEY. by children, no doubt....

I've just popped over to MSE Forums to see how the thread is progressing. It still very much reminds of a load of imbeciles (that's a word that doesn't get used often enough these days) bickering over insignificant points, while managing to somehow completely overlook the one important, original point.

anyway, back to topic. coke have sent me a box and some bubblewrap to send the glass back in. only i dont know where to send it & there was no note with it, so I can only ASSUME the packing material is from coke.

I was washing a coca cola olympic glass with a sponge on Christmas day and it cracked as I turned my hand inside it. The cut was deep and bled profusely and I ended up in my local minor injuries unit where they dressed it. I now have nerve damage, with all its various symptons, which will take a long time to heal. I'm not even absolutely sure that I will recover completely.

I had four of these glasses. The first one cracked in two places. The second one cracked and cut my hand. A couple of days later I found a third one cracked in the same place as the other two in the sink. McDonald's say that the glasses passed health and safety standards, however, there is no way that three glasses would crack in exactly the same place in the space of a month. There must be a weak spot.

I've contacted Essex Trading Standards but they won't tell me how many others have reported injuries. I suspect there are a lot more people who have had cuts but have just thrown the glasses away thinking it was a one off. I know that in Japan they recalled them after 78 cuts. Went round my nephew's today and he said his work colleague had also cut his hand on a McDonald's Olympcs glass, although not as seriously as mine.

I have been in pain and discomfort the past month and you have no idea how much you rely on an index finger to do every day tasks until you have a problem with it. Even typing this is painful. I am going to continue pursuing this with Trading Standards and McDonald's because I am absolutely convinced the glasses are dangerous.

Please don't be put off by any negative comments. Sometimes they need to experience something for themselves before understanding what it's like. You must have been horrified when your daughter was injured.
