    Philip, your Fuchsia reminds me of one I got a few months ago ..

    Honeysuckle Fuchsia - Fuchsia triphylla

    [IMG]

    It was only 30cm tall (got it mail order from a North Portugal supplier but it is quickly filling out. It also gets edible berries.

    I was going to get the F Boliviana but went for this instead.

                  @Victoria ,..i hope this was just a flash in the pan due to all the rain this week and not the beginning of the yearly high water,..it only went down in April after being flooded since last August :cry3:

                        Darn harvesters arrived before all the 'Yellow Loosestrife' managed to bloom.

                        As it was day before yesterday.

                            @Sheal ,

                            Good question Shiel,..yesterday it was cut,.. today its in round bales,..its used to feed livestock during winter,..there is also Wild Mint growing throughout the Loosestrife 'lysimachia vulgaris',..plus Purple Vetch,..Meadow sweet and Purple Loosestrife,..you can imagine how the edible animals taste with this added Herbal Mix :)

                            Lots of activity harvesting what is only named as Hay,..but we know better :stirpot:

                            Giant Hogweed 'Heracleum mantegazzia',..i could be mistaken ????

                            When it touches exposed skin it results in what looks like a bad burn covering the area.

                              I always thought that livestock was fed hay/silage during winter. I didn't know they were fed other crops too.

                              I've had experience of Hogweed burns on more than one occasion and discovered it becomes worse when in contact with water.

                                @Sheal ,..i never knew until tonight about the Hogweed causing the burns,..how i avoided that amazes me as i am always along the river where it is plentiful,..so Hogweed and River Water oops.

                                All those Herbs are cut along with the Hay and mixed throughout,..oh we also feed the Cattle with Beet as well,..they are mostly shaped like Rugby Balls.
