We don't take sugar in tea either. Sushi is not for me but T'other Half will eat it. I won't even eat Smoked Salmon!

I guess this discussion is "Beyond the Garden".

Oh i would classify it as way beyond :),..i better get back to just beyond.

Decided on a walk between rain showers and just made it home before a torrent of rain,..it lasted for a full 12 hours,..even prior to that the river had risen enough to cover the jetties.

Tried uploading some images,..something went haywire three times,..will try again later.

Walked 3/4 way around the outskirts of the town,..ended up where the canal meets the river on the North side,..i tend to hang about on the other end of that canal,..this side is residential.

Very nice walk Philip. The boat looks good when planted ... can't remember, does he do a winter planting as well? Or is that winter?

The gall of people! At Christmas time, one of the freguesias (parishes) put a few dozen Poinsettias at the main road through Algarve (N125) on the junction to Vilamoura (a posh place). One year we were going past and noticed at leas half had been stolen!

I 'stole' some plants once ! :yikes:
We were on holiday in Cornwall one September, and I went for an early walk down by the harbour. They had been clearing some of the summer bedding plants and I saw that they had thrown them on to a trailer, presumably to be towed away to a tip soon, but it had been left there since the previous day.
Anyway, on the trailer were some Iresines, (which I remembered growing several years previously, but they had died) and although these looked rather tatty I thought I'd 'rescue' some of of them from the tip ... so I went back to the chalet where we were staying, got a carrier bag, went back down to the harbour, and put a few of the discarded Iresines into the bag and took them back to the chalet.
They have been very grateful for being 'rescued' because I still have them to this day, and lots of cuttings from them too
(I wouldn't steel plants from a display though  )

You are forgiven for that Michael. If I had seen Iresine lying around, I would have nabbed them too! Actually, many years ago I pinched a piece from near our County Offices here in Silves and got it rooted. Never seen it since and I love it.
