You haven't been around for a while, it sounds like you've been having internet problems. I'm glad you're all right.

      @Michael Hewett ,

Hi Michael,..not so much internet problems but unable to have a free space to set a laptop.

Problem one was a burst pipe in the kitchen,..flooded the kitchen,..had to purchase new tap unit.

      First purchase.
      2.jpg

Then was told to return it as i could get one almost half the price in another shop.

Some comparison in price,..feeling very pleased until the rain started coming through the ceiling,..also through the built in wardrobes though only down through one then along the floor level of each,..at present i have clothes airing after washing them and others back from the cleaners,..Yep Lady Luck seemed to have gone on holiday lol.

      The ceiling hole.

It's surprising the difference in price of things in different places, it pays to look around.
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles but glad you're sorting it out. Water can do a lot of damage.
Nice to see your photos, the wild flowers have been good this year.

Good to see you back Phillip. :dbgrtmb:

Yes, that tap was expensive, think the sale price is more like here. I remember my cousins taking taps back from here some years ago.

Goodness that is a good size hole. It sounds like quite a trauma and pleased you are getting things in order.

Sending some heat your way to dry things out.

Thanks Sheal,..living with so much rain and waterways all around i didn't need it to come visiting,..getting the clutter cleared up,..which put me off mostly with every space taken up by things from the kitchen and bedroom all in the sittingroom :wallbanging:,..almost sorted now.

Taking taps home from Portugal isnt what one usually takes home but if the price is right go for it,..everything here has got so expensive i tell friends not to visit Ireland as its a rip off place just now,..Guest Houses have almost doubled prices aas have Hotels.

I had to get out of bed to stop the sound of the drip drip of water falling into a basin,.. so i placed a layer of sponge in the basin job done,..silence.

Too true! :heehee: We always took copious quantities of wine and spirits!!! Also pottery ... i amassed a 100 piece dinner service which I left in my Welsh Dresser when we sold our apartment on the Isle of Wight, furnished plus a car! :heehee: I thought bringing the pottery was like taking coals to Newcastle ... isn't that the phrase? Plus we were combining three homes into one. Gave an entire van load of stuff, furniture/household items/clothes/etc to charity here. The one guy unloading said "You are not GIVING us all this, are you?" in Portuguese of course.

@Victoria,..its always hard to part with things,..giving them to charity is good as someone will choose to take them on board,..where as if you offer them to someone you know they will accept rather than reject the offer,..thinking they may hurt your feelings to refuse.

In a way my leak has made me empty the top compartments in my built in wardrobe,..to find things i stored away,..things i will never use,..so i too went to the charity shop :)

I hope I'm not going to offend you @glengarry23 but those pink wild flowers are Ragged Robbin, Lychnis floss cuculi (not Aquilegia) It's very common here too and I always love to see it
I have a cultivated version of it in my garden

The irises are pretty aren't they, you probably see lots near the water.
