Just watched last night's episode on iPlayer, it was a very interesting programme. I especially liked the part where they visited Sarah Raven and the great advice she gave, now I'm going to try and grow a few more annuals as cut flowers just like her.

I know I`ll be tarred and feathered for this but I didn`t really find it interesting . An hour long and with minimal gardening content, and £2000 ! for some wooden lego bricks to build a retaining wall that could have been done with treated timber from a merchant for a hundred quid .
And as for the allotment in a wood..... Two beehives and a mish mash of plants. ?

I missed the Sarah Raven bit , must have a look at it on iPlayer . I know she is very posh and has a very posh garden set up , but her down to earth gardening advice is among the best. I have my sweetpeas growing on the windowsill next to me now using the Sarah Raven method - works great :dbgrtmb: If you can find her instructional videos they are really useful.

Sarah Ravens - how to grow Sweet Peas in video below. I don't use Root-Trainers ( or loo rolls which go into a soggy mess !) I use cheap plastic pint beakers with a few holes in the bottom for a long root run. I sow three seeds then sacrifice the weaker one when I pinch out . The two seeds growing together and planted out together end of March , works really well :blue thumb:
