      I modified the birdy box so we could see the nest from the side rather than straight down (with a colour camera), but just for the heck of it we fitted a B/W looking down. I cannot see any difference in the colour composition. We see a pink glow when the setting sun passes the hole but that's it.

        Well, we've been keeping watch for the last few days and it seems she's abandoned the nest :sad:

          Early days Freddy , the eggs will be fine she may be having a break for a day or two plus the weather has been nasty

            wow - how long can she leave them ? Surely they need her body heat?

              No Jen , they will be ok for a while , look at Roders with his 10 eggs , she will only start siting the day before she lays the last egg so they all hatch and fledge (leave the box) at the same time

                    WOW..........We suddenly have five baby Bluetits today,it's a fascinating watch.
                    Mum and Dad are teaching them to eat.......nature is a wonderful thing..
                    They seem to be resting now........HOpe to see more in the morning.

                            I have just seen another one hatch ............she eats the shell straight away, keeping the nest clean..........she is going to have to if they all hatch.
