Bird Table

    I wellied an 8footish length of wood (recycled from a former lawn edge) into the ground, and secured with earth and stones, then screwed hanging basket brackets to the top couple of feet, on all four sides. A little lower, I used a shelf bracket to attach the table my son had made at an RSPB event.

    Totally agree that the table bit should be waterproof - formica sounds like a good idea. Our table didn't last long, partly because it got all messy and wet and started to rot pretty quickly - but also because the woodpigeons and jackdaws used it as a perch, while they scoffed all the seed and peanuts from the feeders!

    It's still going strong 3 + years later - I used the same wood paint I use on my shed and gate (kind of 'goes' with the garden!)
