    Thanks Shiney and WOO xx

WOO - fab photo of the Godwit thingies!!!

On our second day out in Cornwall, we ventured to Padstow today and I was delighted to add two new birds to my sightings!

    1. TURNSTONES.

These cheeky chaps were incredibly tame and walking right between our feet on Padstow Harbour.

    2. SHORT EARED OWL ??

We were amazed whilst walking over a bit of heathland on the coastal path out of Padstow to see an owl! I have never seen an owl in daylight and never thought I'd have my camera ready for a chance shot like this!!!

I thought it was a tawny originally, but having come home and read up on British Owls it would seem the most likely one to see in daylight hours is the Short Eared Owl. Also, it looks more like a short ear when it is blown up on the computer!

    YAY!

    Thanks Inter x

As of this post, all new bird additions have been updated onto the main list.

Fantastic to see new bird species being added slowly but surely - well done everyone for keeping the interest and level of great photography so high. All your enthusiasm is great to see.
    Thanks guys :) :cl-p:

Hi Cookie and Welcome back, you have been missed:thumb:xxx:)

Love the photo of the Shortie,Mr Kandy and myself saw our first ones when we stayed up on Orkney and we have also see them on Mull.Glad that you managed to see some and how fantastic to get them on photo:thmb:

When we were staying down at Hastings the other year I tried getting some photos of Turnstones but they were moving so fast that most of my shots came out blurred.I think I should have nailed them down first:D

Thanks for sharing them with us:thmb::)

:luv: Thanks Kandy - it's really good to be back xx

Yes the Turnstones were certainly speedy little chaps - most of the photos I took were blurry!

They also have VERY LOUD peeping calls :hehe: and they looked very different when they took flight with lovely 'go faster' black and white flashes on their wings and body. Cute little birds.

I'm still amazed at seeing the owl - they are my favourite type of bird. James was the sharp eyed marvel who first spotted it, so kudos to him!

Saw a couple of Kestrels on the cliffs at Pentire Point, North Cornwall, pairing up in the spring sunshine. Lovely. :)

Sorry they are so small on the pics but I have a problem getting too close to cliff edges!
