WOW I'm out of breath with gasping at all your photos Glen :) :) :) :) Utterly fab and challenges well met indeed. Spoonbills close up !!!!! I nearly caught a pair of Great Crested Grebes doing the weed dance but by the time the camera was ready they had reverted to the head movement dance! This pair were at the Nature Reserve at Slapton Ley, Torcross, South Devon.

So I deem the weed dance challenge still wide open!

So Glen, you were at Radipole RSPB recently, a regular haunt of mine, the Spoonbills (at lodmoor?) are usually at the far side and can't a get a good pic with my camera. A marsh Harrier seems to be resident now too.

Cookie, the Grebe courtship is fantastic, well done.

So just the Egret foot close up!!

cookie - the water must be warmer down your way, the great crested grebes up here did nothing but sleep when I was watching them, great shots!!

strongy - yes, i was down at radipole and lodmoor a couple of weekends ago. We were visiting a friend and then having a night at a great hotel, summer lodge at evershot. The spoonbills were at distance, lots of zoom and digital zoom needed although the fly past was a little closer. We also got to see the hooded merganser and a green sandpiper. There was a raptor at lodmoor too, some birders told us it was a marsh harrier, others that it was a buzzard. i'm pretty sure it was a buzzard though. The bugs i've posted on the other thread were also at radipole. We had a great day really, no bitterns or bearded tits but never mind!!

The kingfishers are more local to me, at potteric carr near doncaster. visited for first time recently and really enjoyed it, its a really well organised reserve with 11 hides, visitors centre etc. well worth a visit if anyone is up this way.

Took a walk along the River Plym at its estuary and saw this fine buzzard circling high overhead.

Also saw a few Shelduck and a Little Egret so far away it only looked like a white blob on full zoom. I seem not to be able to edit any of my posts at the moment so please forgive my not having updated the list. I have written to the mods about this, so hopefully they can help me out. I can't edit, put spaces between photos and blocks of text or add smileys currently.
