Went for a very cold, windy walk around Radipole Lake again this afternoon and got lucky. The Bearded Tits were out right on one of the paths. Difficult to get pics in the strong wind.

Kathy, they were really close and not taking any notice of us. There were 5 of them but it was difficult focusing on them in the strong wind on those bendy reeds.:)

I have seen this or similar birds in our garden for the past couple of days.
    Are they both Redwings ?

I hadn't seen any for a few years Lyn and then last week there were hundreds. Now they have all but gone. Both Fielfares and Redwings only come here in numbers when in bad weather food is hard to find in Scandinavia, this time the bad weather followed them!

Ah, Bearded Tits, saw some the other day, didn't know what they were. They were feeding below a bridge I was on. Saw a few Pochards, Tufted Ducks, Swans with their youngish ones. There's been a few twitchers out near us all looking for Smew's, a few have been sighted. Saw a Jay today, a friendly Robin also helped me clear some ground, saw a Buzzard a few weeks ago and a Green Woodpecker. We have loads of collared Doves in our garden, they seem to be getting cosy. Also seen some type of Finch feeding from dead seed heads. And then there's Bob.....a Pheasant (cock) thats taken up residence in our garden.

I really must start taking my camera out with me.:dh: I live in rural Norfolk between the Ouse and the relief channel, we see lots of birds.
