Thanks Woo and Kathy, It is a great place as it has a river estuary, a tidal harbour, sandbanks, heathland, woodland and open fields.:)

Sods Law, went for a walk last Sunday and came across a Bullfinch in a tree about 15 feet away, it never moved. Who didn't have his camera with him?:(

I don't think Robins have permanent mates Woo (not like us:D).
They have started claiming their territories now and you can often hear a couple of males battling it out with their song. Despite their delicate appearance they can be VERY aggressive to other 'trespassing' males.

That's interesting about the robins. They do seem to get a bit agressive around the garden but are never aggresive in our bird feeding area. There were five robins eating together the other day. :gnthb:

All the birds seem to get on really well when they are around the feeder. The only agression that we see are the collared doves always chasing the magpies away. None of the birds seem the least bit bothered about Oscar sitting nearby and he never harms any birds unless they go in his greenhouse.

I watched "our" little Robin chase 3 starlings away from "his" feeder the other day in our garden. I wonder how big a territory Robins have...I see our little chappie about once an hour.

    Steve...:)
