This fat percy has spent a good deal of this afternoon eating soggy seed that I scrapped of the bird table. He was doing me a favour removing the seed from the ground but would you look at the size of his crop!
Must have been a tough take off!

This thread is lovely. I miss seeing all the different sorts of birds but I suppose I could move my lazy behind and get down to a site somewhere, lol.

Strongy, do the robins at Lodmore come and eat out of your hand? I can't remember the one I went to (a few times) but the robins were on your car as you arrived even before you'd got out!! I never forget how small I thought they were (I know they are small but they're even tinier than I realised) and how spindly their legs are!!

    cheers

I've never tried feeding them, probably because I never take food with me:hehe:
I guess if I sat three long enough they might feed from my hand.

Hi Kandy, thanks for that. :gnthb:

I thought they might be Goldfinches but I always remembered them with red on the top of their heads. The two on our feeder had only got black an white stripes.

Hi Shiney,The top two are Greenfinches and the bottom ones are the goldfinches. The red is between the beak and the white band and there looks like more behind the stripe. You need to get yourself a good bird book so you can learn to identify the visitors in your garden, and try taking off your reactor light glasses and then you will see the red:cool::D
