Nowt plain or ordinary about your little sparrow Sam! Thanks for posting. Sparrows are common where I am in Devon but my mum never sees them anymore where she lives near Bath. Never thought I'd see the day that house sparrows became absent from a semi-rural town garden... :(

YAY - female Chaffinch - I'll add both of these to the list!

OK folks.... we are nearly reaching the magical figure of 100 listed species. Keep up the good work! Big pats on backs!

Great 'all action' photos-in-motion Nutty! Ta very much!

Are you still giving her mud pies for the nest?

Mealworms? Do you buy yours alive or dried? If you get dried, do you have to rehydrate them? Never been too sure about mealworm food - mainly in case I make a fool of myself in the shop by asking daft questions and looking a right twit!

They are a fantastic food source though, especially at this time of year. But they do look expensive to buy in the shops.

Thanks again Nut for your contribution - keen to see more if you manage to find another robin to tame. Does the male blackbird ever put in a greenhouse appearance?

I think that they will sadly have to go in the birds from the rest of the world thread, Glen. :(

I think this thread is dedicated to birds photo'd on British soil, although it is difficult when birds like peacocks, who have lived here all their lives and birds from nature parks who are not indigenous to Britain, are included.

I'll say - as long as it has been photo'd in Britain, it goes in here. If it has been photo'd abroad, then it goes in the other one!!! Confused? Yeah.. me too!!??

    :D

Can't wait to see your photos whatever Glen!!

NUTTY - blargh... I am not too good with wrigglies although I used to go fishing regularly as a kid and use maggots for bait! I had suspected the birds would flock to you for no less than the real thing though! Thanks for the info!
