Shiney - I'd be very amazed if you have Ravens in the garden - although never say never - they often prefer wild places and are extremely heavily biased on the western side of the country. (except for those at the Tower of London!)

My bird book says that they are mostly seen in rolling wooded countryside, desolate upland areas and rugged and windswept coats! Apparently the East Coast is responsible for persecution of the bird in the past and the neat farming leaves little carrion for them to eat.

You've probably got crows chuck! ;)

strongy - just realised, you have to enable advanced settings to get the insert image option. Go to userCP on top of page, then click on edit options. scroll dowm to the bottom, under Miscellaneous Options change setting to either of the last 2, then click save changes at bottomof the page. Ths will enable a few extra options on the quick reply panel.

CM, Show Images box was ticked, Glen, tried the insert image icon, still doesn't work, will only post the photobucket url.
I have never been able to post pics using the img code on photobucket for some unknown reason but it has always workswd(up till now) with the direct link.

sorry strongy, i'm lost!! were you able to post a photo direct from your computer, without putting it onto photobucket??

If I put the link from one of your photo's earlier in the post, say this one....

    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f354/chargrave/volodmoor004.jpg

into the window that pops up when I click on the yellow 'postcard' icon, I get this result.

although looking at your last post, if you right click the red cross where the image should be and look at the properties, it seems as though you haven't got all of the link included. it should end in .jpeg or similar.

sorry cookie etc - have hijacked thread, can a mod move this discussion elsewhere???

    YAY! Inter's joined in!!!!! :thumb:

I think your Jay is fab - you were very privileged to get him coming into your garden like that! Love the other shots too - look forward to seeing what hatches out of the mute swan nest.

Hope the Jay doesn't come back and poop all over your lovely new patio - bird dirt on Oxford grey...Hmmmmm? Not very chique!

No worries Glen and strongy - hope you get your pics sorted Stongy - it is far too tantilizing not being able to see them yet!

Just browsed through this whole thread - WoW - some fantastic shots folks!!!

Last Tuesday, a friend was round having a cuppa tea, when she spotted a 'cuckoo' on our hedge! Luckily the camera was handy, and I nabbed a few pics of the male sparrow hawk before it departed. Not nearly as great as some of your shots - my camera doesn't do great at distance, and it was through my window - and I was hovering in a bizarre and uncomfortable contortion trying not to spook it!

Don't think there's a sparrow hawk on the list...

It didn't get anything this time - a couple of months ago, there were the tell tale signs of recent plucking on my kilmarnock willow - unfortunately it looked like the unfortunate smackeral had been a siskin - there was a fair smattering of beautiful bright yellow feathers.
