When did you buy that plant LOL and has it been reptted since?
The reason I ask is because I wonder if at some stage it might have been treated with that chemical that commercial growers use to keep plants compact.
The double flowers I refer to, I think, can occur on any plant.

Bought it as a Christmas present so I guess this is the third year, pete, and I repotted it immediately into the current pot ... large than "they" say you should do, ie, the stages of sizes of pots.

I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one then! [IMG]

Never having heard of double-flowered BoPs before you mentioned it recently, pete, I think the stemless one is going to be a double.

I shan't rush out in the RAIN now to photograph it. In fact, I'll wait a few days.

I find this quite amazing ... must have been those sudden doses of fertilizer and heavy waterings! :D

Also, the S nicholai is putting up a second new leaf! This is good as we were down to two original leaves plus the one new due to our high winds over the winter, it being up on the deck.

It does look very much like what I call a double flower LOL.
Its just a pity that it has no stem, it would look good high up on the plant.

I dont think it can be that uncommon LOL.
I bet if you keep your eyes peeled you'll find some local plants doing it.

All of mine look sad and even after our heavy rains I have watered daily and fertilised and they are sad, and here's the latest picture of my demented darling BoP(s) ...

Much bigger pots required this year LOL, and a couple of years to sort themselves out.
I'm sure they will be fine then.
But pot growing is not ideal for them, I have to, you dont. [IMG]

I DO HAVE TO AS WELL, pete. I have no ground room .. I've said before, I'm on rock base.

Same thing with the Cannas ... my peach ones have frittered away in the last couple of weeks, I'm so sad about it, the NEED to be in the ground, but there is no GROUND.

MUST STOP BUYING PLANTS ... MUST STOP BUYING PLANTS ...

So what are the oranges growing in.
Go get a hammer drill and dig a "pot" in the ground.

The oranges are growing in good soil, but it's not my land.

I have a very small garden on rock base at the edge of the orchards ... it's difficult to explain, okay?
