    We saw our one and only black squirrel at the RSPB reserve over at Sandy in Bedfordshire some twenty years ago and was told there was a small population of them at Elton which is not to far away from the reserve,but have no idea if they are still there as we have never seen any of them since that time.:)

      Yes this is the Rogue Black Squirrel which is a cross of the grey. They are more dominant and agressive than the grey.
      My son is at Anglian Ruskin Uni., and his Proffessor is doing a study on them.

      As you state ARMANDII things do not bode well for the reds.:cry3:
