That's a very interesting article Joolz. The writer seems to use a real cocktail cabinet of chemicals on his roses!

Just another method of Black spot prevention treatment:ideaIPB:

When the black spot spore lands on the leaf, it germinates and sends its little root system through the cell wall into the sap stream below and it proliferates. If you thicken that cell wall, the spore lands on the top, the root system germinates and it goes halfway through and then fizzles out, and so you get less black spot. But how do you thicken that cell wall? It's easy - just use sulphate of potash and give them about 100 to 150 grams per bush about four times a year – this should guarantee a lot less black spot:)

Hi CH/R you could scatter it round the bottom of the rose and hoe it well in make sure you read and adhere to the instructions on the box as the dosage might be different from the above post because the mixture could be made up in different proportions, and please don't forget , Never water your roses from above only round the roots you must keep the leaves dry:)

Hi Woo. I have a query ?. Did I read on an early post a treatment for Black Spot On Roses----. Mix Ordinary Fat Free Milk with water on a one to one basis, apply using a spray bottle on the clean leaves of the roses. ?.

I will be using Rose Clear for blackspot treatment sometime this week. But I will use it only in the late evening when the insect activity has lessened.:snork:
