Thanks both. Luckily I'll be digging up my last 'Pentland Javelin' tomorrow. Not that it matters, we don't eat new/boiled potatoes! No idea why I chose them...:mute:

Our early sown Red Alert tomatoes planted in buckets have Blight, I would have notifeced this sooner but they've been placed in a remote l8cation to prevent Pup from helping himself and Mrs Scrungee has been doing the picking. I noticed some dsrk patches on the toms she'd picked, checked the plants and there's more damaged fruits and virtually all the leaves were affected but now have been removed and everything almost ripe picked.vWish the hot, dry westher wouod return.

Got what might be very early signs of late blight on my PFAs so immediately cut the stems and chucked them on a bonfire that will be lit tonight, polytunnel toms (right next to the PFAs) still fine and outdoor Ferlines all still fine.

I thought blight was a fungus?
When I hear people say we need a cold winter to kill off pests etc. I always wonder how they manage in warmer climates where they dont get frost.
                    Must be a total nightmare.
