There are also window films that are held in place by a soapy formula therefore easy to remove. I've seen nice ones that look like stained glass or acid etched frosty look done in leaf patterns etc.

I believe they would be about £15.

 

If you want a cheap remedy cut up a black dustbin liner and Blu-Tack it to the window.
