I'm closing my eyes to that Scotkat :(
    hope you enjoyed.

When I've lost about 2 stone perhaps I'll make some more bread.
My New Years Resolution last year was to lose weight - but only managed to lose 14 lbs in a whole year! (memo: must try harder!)

Well, couldn't resist it - and got the bread machine out of the cupboard.
I just make the dough in the machine and then cook it in my microwave/convection
combi which cooks more evenly than my gas cooker.

This is the first loaf I have made for over a year and it was delicious.
I have been very good though and only had a slice or two at a time.

Oh, well done, jj ... can I have a slice please?

Will have to have t'other half make some over the weekend ... he's the breadman. With us it's multi-grain with added caraway seed which we both love.

Enjoy (with butter I hope) and think of me! [IMG]

I put courgettes in my bread. Does anyone want the recipe.

I usually mix it in the breadmaker, then cook it in the oven.

Haven't ever added anything to my bread badsal -I just use half and half/wholemeal and white flour and find that it is delicious on it's own.
Might add things later if I ever get a bit bored with it - can't see that ever happening though [IMG]

That reminds me, just noticed it's 5.45pm so must be teatime [IMG]

Here is recipe for small loave of Courgette Country Grain Bread:

Place ingredients in breadmaker in this order (unless your breadmaker tells you to add dry ingredients first).

    55ml/2floz/ buttermilk (I use semi-skimmed)
    70ml/2 1/2floz water
    115g/4oz grated courgette
    280g/10oz white bread flour
    50g/2oz wholemeal bread flour
    15ml/1tbsp sunflower seeds
    15ml/1tbsp pumpkin seeds
    5ml/1tsp millet seeds
    5ml/1tsp salt
    5ml/1tsp granulated sugar
    25g/1oz butter
    5ml/1tsp easy blend yeast
    maizemeal for sprinkling

Set your bread machine to basic/normal setting.
    Press Start
Just before the baking cycle, brush the top with water and sprinkle on the maizemeal. (I don't do this)

This is for a small loaf. I have the measurements for larger loaves if you want them. Give it a go, it is really delicious bread.

I'm not much for adding grain to the bread (unlike like my Kid Sis), I much prefer the plain ol' white bread - better still, the really yummy bread from over your way Mona Lisa.

However, adding grated courgettes to the mix sounds great and I'll try it out soon. It will also be a good way to use up some of our excess courgettes this year, assuming we have another good crop.

We've made our own bread for years. I'ts brilliant on the day its made - passable the next day and only good for the birds the day after. 2 pieces of freshly made bread with a good hunk of cheese washed down with a pint of homemade - Heaven!!!!!

Hi! Kedi Gato what gorgeous pussies, I always think that is such a descriptive sounding word for them and conveys everything nice about every one of the pussies I meet! Mind you it would be nice to have a wod as fully descriptive in sound for the doggies too. CAN ANYONE THINK OF ONE?
