Hi @IceColdRum the bread has pieces of sun dried tomato(even though I don't eat tomatoes) in it so that is what the black bits are.We buy Wrights Parmeson and Sundried Tomato Bread Mix from Tescos and that is the size it usually comes out at so Mr Kandy slices it and half goes in the freezer.Mr Kandy likes his bread made with flour from Shipton Mill at the moment but in the past we got our flour from Waitrose until the discontinued it:sad:

Just watch during the first kneading cycle. If it looks wet, add a little more flour. I can tell by the sound the dough makes when it's getting slapped around whether it needs some tweaking. :)

I would say that: olive oil makes a dough elastic and non sticky to surfaces. I am not so familiar with honey in relation to baking.

image.jpeg Hi @honeybunny i have asked the technical advisor and he says he just puts the mix into the pan that comes with the machine adds water as directed on the packet and then presses,Basic,Rapid,Large and it does it automatically for 1Hr 55 minutes. The loaf doesn't look that big in the photo but in real life it is:snorky:

Not sure what bread maker you have but ours is a Panasonic SD255 as in the photo I have just taken. We got the Panny when the bread prices for granary loaves went up to £1.19 per loaf which I thought a tad expensive. My bread flour costs 90p from Tescos and I don't think the cost of the leccky or water is that expensive but I could be wrong. The only downside is that because the bread isn't full of preservatives it has to be eaten quickly or frozen.I like to keep mine in the fridge in a bag whereas Mr Kandy likes his in a bag on the worktop.Until it goes mouldy that is:snorky::eeew:

                I love-love-love that mix! :wub2:

You won't regret it, it is D-LISH!!
I gave a packet to a fellow GC'er once, but they misread the instructions and it went horribly wrong. So, please take note: read the instructions on the packet ;) :heehee:

I've been making a good loaf for the last couple of weeks a farmhouse style loaf with 425g white bread flour + 75g Brown Bread Flour and with a generous 1 1/2tsp yeast, I think it's going to be my new go too loaf :mrflower:

I decided I wanted to try something sweet tonight so I've found a recipe for a fruit loaf, I quite like toasted fruit loaf :)

I tend to make 1/3 to 1/2 brown, or "fancy" flour, the rest basic strong white flour, with great results.

Has anyone else tried the Aldi speciality bread flours? Matthews Cotswold flour - both the eight grain and the Cotswold crunch are great!

                          Hello chums :)
Well, I've had my bread maker (Panasonic) for maybe 9months now? Ain't never going back to the bought stuff. I've settled (for now) on a mixture of 300gms whole grain seeded and 100gms Canadian very strong white, both from sainsburys. Set on the brown bread setting, it produces a VERY yummy loaf. Soft and fluffy with a crisp crust, oooooh

Sounds good freddy! I made that fruit loaf I linked to above, didn't think a lot of it... it just tasted like bland bread with soggy sultanas :frown:

does anyone have a better recipe?
