Well, I got myself a Panasonic, the SD-ZB2512. It's an all-singing all-dancing model. Looking forward to some yummies :)
Crikey, I just looked back at when this thread was started, Aug 22nd 2008, exactly 7 years ago........spooky :hate-shocked:

Has anyone got the quick bread recipes from last week's bake off? I especially liked the look of the one with Parma ham in it, I could smell it coming from the TV!

My first loaf, just a basic white to try it out...

              image.jpg

It was nice and crispy when I took it out, but after 20-30 mins it went a bit soft. I'll try with a bit less water next time.

I've just been having a look at some of the recipes, and wouldn't mind having a go at some of the dough mixes. One thing though, it says that the dough should be kept at 40c while it rises. Any ideas how I can achieve that?

How are you liking it? Last year I bought the model down from it (It doesn't have the automatic fruit dispenser) and just love it! But it's lay in the cupboard for sooooo long  I dug it out this morning as I'm fed up buying a Warburtons Toastie for hubby, a dairy & soya free loaf for my allergy daughter and a gluten free loaf for me as I'm currently on a low FODMAP diet.

I tried to make a gluten free loaf this morning, what an epically epic fail it was! A horrible uncooked brick emerged when the "beep beep" sounded.

Any failsafe gluten free recipes please anyone?? :help:

                Hello chums :)
I've been and bought some Wholegrain Seeded bread flour, but can't see it listed in the Panasonic recipe book. Any idea which program I should use?

For anyone interested, I’ve settled on Sainsbury’s whole grain seeded bread flour and Sainsbury’s very strong Canadian white bread flour mixed together, 300 grams seeded and 100 grams white. I also only add 280mls of water instead of 300. It doesn’t last long :)

My favourite go to recipe for bread is the bread machine egg bread. Not nearly as heavy as Challah and a great base for different flavours. I never bake in the maker juxt use the dough cycle.Just use it to perform the beatings. Then I use the dough to make buns or loaves or whatever. Let rise again. Bake. Eat :)

                    Slurp of oil
1 1/3 cup water or milk
                    Tspn salt 1
Splash of sugar... about 3 tbspns
tbspn of milk powder if not using milk, I use soy milk powder. Cheap and does the same job
                    2 eggs
                    4 cups flour
                    3 tspns yeast

Then add whatever. I add cheese or hot peppers or whatever. Or leave plain.

Bake at 350f until it smells nice and thumps hollow about 20 minutes
