Your bread looks lovely. I make all my own bread too. I don't have a bread maker. I prefer to make bread by hand although I use a dough hook in my Kenwood for kneading. I made Challah bread the other day and it was great fun doing the braiding. I notice the Americans use plain flour/all purpose flour when making rolls. I have tried this and thy turn out so soft and feather light.

I'm going to be making my own bread this winter. I don't have a mixer and so will be kneeding it by hand. I can't make pastry for the life of me but I can bake a decent loaf. When my girls were younger we used to make bread for something to do on a rainy day but they're now a lot older but my toddler likes making biscuits and cakes so perhaps I can get him to help make some rolls :)

Robert, I actually get my coffee shipped in, I order it on line from Peets, they offer many varieties from around the world, you just select the type of coffee you like from the descriptions. I used to be a loyal starbucks fan until I found them. I even take my coffee on vacation with me to brew in the suite we are staying.

Granny, I buy unbleached flour for breads rolls. In some stores I can find lessor processed flours which I also use. See you in the Pantry.

Columbian coffee seems to be my favorite at the moment. that may change in a while as I think like a lot of folk tastes change and we move on to different varieties.
I usually make a full cafertier and then top up my thermal pot. Lasts about three hrs with hot coffee on tap. Just the job in the garden.

My uncle bought a bread machine for Granny last year, butshe thought that her social role in the family would be threatened by this new devilry and packed it to the cellar. When I moved to Germany it came with me, I make bread from the supermarket mix (multi seed, yum) and I really love it. Pizza, however, I make from scratch on my own ;)

I am afraid I mostly buy mine-but come on Warbutons is up the road, unless of course it`s naan bread-those you have to make from scratch and dry fry them -delicious. I have a bread maker but can`t ever be bothered to make my own proper bread to be honest.

All this bread talk made me feel like "going for it" and I am making my first ever "non machine" bread. Can't be more complicated than pizza can it? (don't answer Idon't wantto bediscouraged right now). Actually I needed to get rid of the last old nuts (!!) from last year before all the walnuts in the garden start showering us with new nuts, so it is walnut bread. :D

I wish I could ship two or three to you we have way too many, since several seedlings were left to grow in some really overcrowded places. But yes, it's nice! And they are lovely trees.
