    Robert, thank you so much.

I shan't be attempting to make bread in the next week or two as my schedule is a bit full but I have now safely tucked away your recipe and shall make sure I have all the ingredients, will try it and report back ... hopefully with a success story.

    They do look yummy Caps.:gnthb:
We use our Bread Maker for loaves, pizza dough and rolls, never though of adding cheese to any at the start.

Probable not a good idea to add cheese at the start, use the machine just for the basic mix, I think maybe its better to hand kneed the cheese into the dough after the machine has completed its raising and then bake in oven.
Another idea to try is to soak your chosen dry herbs in olive oil (maybe overnight) before adding to the mixture.
I shall try that next batch.
Any toasted herb bread is seriously nice to eat. The toasting brings out all the flavours.

Todays bread turned out not so bad.
A slight change of method for the cheese and rosemary made it a little wet and it spread abit... But Its tastes just wonderful.
The other two are white seeded....yummy

Fresh homemade jam... yes.. we have a good winter stock at this time. Plum, gooseberry, mixed fruit, summer berries, tropical fruit.
Trouble is they dont last long once they are opened...

Your house must smell gorgeous Robert. I have only made bread using a packet mix (a grain mix] and it was lovely!! The boys really enjoyed it too. :)

Just reading this thread again and I really must make some bread for a Christmas treat. Nothing like homebaked is there but like Redstar said, much earlier on, I try not
to cook too often because I can't resist eating it with thick butter -- yummmmmm!

I also just found a recipe on Youtube for "no-knead bread" which it says is very good but I think it takes several hours to rise.

    Watch this video clip

    Any body tried this recipe?

    :D

Now that looks interesting. I think in this day and age we need everything in a hurry and tend to forget the traditional methods which if you can be bothered can produce the best results. This bread looks rather yummy. I may well give it a go.
