I just watched the interview of one of the Labour ministers (name escapes me - if I ever knew it) by Naga Munchetty. She was very good. He was saying what they would negotiate but, and in my opinion, she made him look a bit silly by trying to get from him why he thought they could negotiate terms that Merkle has already said that the EU won't tolerate. :dunno:

        From the Daily Express:

"Ministers including Jacob Rees-Mogg have called on other Eurosceptic MPs to join in ousting the Prime Minister"

Appears the DE think JRM is now a Minister, have I missed his appointment?

Wasn't it bliss in comparison to nowadays when the damned word brexit didn't exist? Since when did any divorce settlement entail both parties getting exactly what they wanted? All the bonhomie of 5 days ago didn't last long. As far as I am aware we are not heading for another world war, the amount of panic going on in parliament would suggest we were. I am sick unto death of referbloodyrendums the results of which don't seem to be honoured by the "looser" Whatever the outcome of this latest "circus" I am expecting to have to endure yet another referendum before long and no doubt then another and another ad infinitum. What happened to democracy?

I'm not too sure about that! Shall we have a referendum to decide whether we shall have a referendum?

It was democratically voted out, silu.:dunno::heehee: The fact that a Peoples Vote is being considered by some of our highly paid MPs seems, to me, that they're yet again not doing the job they're paid for by taking hard decisions for trying to pass on the onus to.:gaah::wallbanging::snorky:

It’s a mess. I said over two years ago that no-one would get what they wanted. No, I’m not saying I told you so, but with the county so divided, it seemed inevitable. Is the only way to sort it to have another referendum? I’m not necessarily advocating one, but I can’t see any other way ahead.
I have to say, having always voted Labour, I’m a bit miffed at their opportunistic attitude. I get the impression they would vote against any deal. It’s a mess...

Well, we could tell the MP's that we pay them to take the decisions on BREXIT and not run away and pass it on to the public who are even more divided. Another referendum designed to change the result of a previous referendum is something that European countries have done in the past in order for the EU to get the result they wanted........if you have a referendum then you stick by the decision otherwise what is the point of having a referendum if opponents of that decision want to overrule it with another??:dunno::wallbanging::doh:. As Wee Tam pointed out, in theory, you could have an endless chain of referendums each dividing the country and even causing civil clashes because the original democratic decision was smothered.

Honestly folks, wasn’t it better when one side were complaining about bent bananas? Is all this division really worth it? Will Brexit deliver peace and harmony? No, it won’t.

The question on the Referendum papers, Freddy, was........

The answer was "Leave the European Union" ........plain and simple.

I didn't think it was designed to. BREXIT would ensure we are free to trade with whatever country we wish to. It would ensure we don't have our politics, budgets, armed forces, and borders controlled by a foreign unelected group of Bureaucrats who take decisions behind closed door with a declared agenda of morphing sovereign countries into a Federal State.
The EU and it's supporters have put every barrier and mediA fear campaign etc that they can think of in order to block BREXIT and make it as difficult as possible for the UK. Preferring a quiet life and letting the UK be bullied and pressured into changing the decision of a democratic referendum is not the solution. We have fought and fought in situations for freedom either political, physical, or economic, so that decisions for the future of the UK can be taken by elected politicians and this is no different. The other answer is to give up and let France and Germany move their politicians into the UK and take over.
