Sadly Freddy, it runs much deeper than bent bananas - but, I agree, none of it is worth it. I have entirely given up on politics as a whole. I am disinclined to ever darken the door of a polling station ever again, as it appears that doing so is merely wasting my time and energy. I have arrived at the conclusion that those that are richer than I am are going to continue to make the decisions, whilst behaving like a bunch of teenage schoolkids, and will do so to ensure that they get richer and richer -- scum like me, well, we just have to put up, shut up and carry on.

Its too late now . Weve gone beyond the point of being able to turn back to as it was . The politicians failed the people regarding Europe for many years, labour, tories, europrats, and the pc liberals.

But that’s just it, the politicians aren’t able/willing to move on this. Every politician it seems, has their own ‘take’ on Brexit. Essentially, what is Brexit? Not paying in anymore? Keeping foreigners out? The ballot paper only said in or out. The whole thing was just too complex for just a simplistic question. Only now are the implications and complexity becoming apparent, for your average ‘joe’ (call me joe).
To be honest, things were better (imo) before all of this got started. Brexit has only divided the nation.

I can understand your point, Freddy:thumbsup:. But, take a step back, and the truth is that the UK was already divided well before BREXIT:dunno: due to the growing political, legal, and economic interference of the EU, and it was that growing division, over decades, that forced Cameron to have a Referendum believing that Joe Public would vote to stay in. We have never been a country, right or wrong, that could take, or suffer, being controlled by another country. When the EU came into being it changed from a trading organisation to a highly political organisation with an agenda of (forgive the repetition) none elected foreign Bureaucrats with no loyalty to any country other than their own organisation, and people in the UK saw that and resented it. Yes, there is turmoil, division, fear, etc at this present time but if we gain our freedom, sovereignty, legal powers, ability to control our borders, freedom to trade with which ever country we want then lets right the stormy seas and be free.:coffee:

Ah, but the good men will do stuff - the ones that all know better than I do...... you know, the ones that sit and behave like children in a building that is old, and about to cost us a small fortune. Me, I am going to dedicate myself to study - - starting with beer and then graduating to spirits.

That is ducking responsibility, FC, and saying you're less than others. You know my stance of equality, and it's the same for responsibility

Bad as it is, FC, it is far better than kneeling in front on foreign bureaucrats, letting them tell you what to do, while holding their hands out to demand a even larger fortune. Freedom of this country has no price, and a lot of people died in two physical world wars for that freedom of our politics, economics. This present situation is even more dangerous in the sense that it is a political and economic war and weak, or corrupt, politicians are so caught up in their own agendas that they have lost any morals or courage they may have had.

You're late, I'm already on my 3rd dram of Ardmore which is so peaty that it feels like I just smoked 20 Capstan Full Strength.:hate-shocked::snorky:

Oh, I agree that it has become a war - indeed, I think I said a wee while back that in my opinion it is World War III without physical weapons. Yes, there may be a degree of responsibility involved - however, there is only so many times that a person will try and have their point of view understood before they realise that they are quite literally farting against thunder.

Over the past couple of months, I have discerned (in more than one situation) that it matters not a jot what I say, others will carry on regardless - I also realised that caring about that only led to frustration, therefore I have made quite a conscious decision to simply not bother. I shall go about my business, of course, and will offer an opinion where I think it is warranted - otherwise, I will comply and simply do my bit.

The potency of which depends on how many drams you've had or, in Ziggies case, what Curry you've had. I've never walked away from a cause that is right and I know, for sure, you don't or haven't either.

Correction, didn't - now do. My days of trying to make the world a better place are long gone, not least as there are people above my level that will either ignore or demolish any attempts to do so. You can kick a dog a number of times, and he will keep coming back....... only, eventually, he won't, once he finally learns that his best option is simply not to come to you.

I seriously do not think it is even an 'if' any longer. One way and another, a considerable majority of the public are either scared witless of the consequences of leaving, or are so pissed off with the whole thing that they just want it to stop in the fastest possible way. MP's will not make the decision, thus it will be handed off to the people, and that will be that.

Oh no it wasn't, it was much better when complaining about EU bans on home made insecticides and seed saving.

I can see a real danger of a substantial proportion of the electorate feeling betrayed by by the mainstream political parties. It has already happened to the LibDems, and both the Conservatives and Labour could suffer the same fate.

I read up to 6 online newspapers every day (+BBC News) and don't pay a penny for any of the newspapers, including the subscription ones (there's ways around the so called paywalls).
