The EU are putting the screws on us pretty well.
    Thanks to the remainers.

Just imagine what they would do to Italy, them being in the Euro.

The powerful and influential in this country are desperately trying scaremongering tactics again. And the media is reporting it all as fact.
Boris has impressed me so far ...let’s help him to help us. Too naive I know !:noidea:

I tend to think that between the likes of Boris and the scaremongers there is a middle ground that might be true.
The more I hear of how bad it will be, if we leave, the more I tend to wonder, how the hell have we become so dependant on the EU for everything we use and consume?

And it's a situation that will probably only get worse as we get more and more controlled by them.

So to me, I dont think it will be plain sailing by any means, but we need to get away from their clutches, maybe it's already too late, I dont know.

Just wish we had never joined the bloody thing in the first place.

Quite agree Pete. I remember my old dad reading from the News of the World, some of the original reports leading up to us joining. My comment was. Worse thing we can ever do. To be honest. It would serve us right, if the common wealth countries were to say. Don't look to us for sympathy. To a great degree,Britain turned it's back on NZ. Canada and the like, and fully embraced the EU. In respect of buying meat etc. We also had to change our farming methods etc.

Now today, we are well and truly in the muck.

It was three years ago, that the people of Britain voiced their feelings. They voted to leave the EU.

Why is now, and only now, that serious questions are being asked. Why has it been left until this late stage, these dying moments of the relationship, that negotiations are taking place. Why NOW. Surely WE and the EU should have been history long ago.

Please can I once more, taste and enjoy a good shoulder of NZ lamb.

Somehow, I think that the EU is afraid of us leaving. Afraid that in time other members will follow. To members of a trading agreement is one thing, but, to live under a dictatorship is another. Britain endured two world wars, against dictator powers. Trade with each other is good. Dictate to us. DON'T GO THERE.

Follow the money. Which country gains the most? Economic invasion/control seems to have replaced warfare in many places. In my umble opinion ..:noidea:

Actually Pete, we, the voting public, joined the Common Market. When they formed the Europe Union, Tony Blair signed us up to it WITHOUT our permission.

Teflon Tony did a lot of things without our permission.
But I remember voting not to join the common market, I was pretty young at the time, but even then wondered why we were turning our backs on the Commonwealth.

Ted Heath was a bumbling old fool that should have stuck to sailing his boat, preferably out of the country.

I reckon he was the end of the era of old fashioned, privileged Politicians ....thank the Lord.:love30: But then came the shysters such as Wilson, Blair who were only interested in themselves, and the ineffectual ones like Brown and Major............so the Political system didn't get any better. I think we're possibly in a time of where the Politicians, and their incompetent behaviour, are now exposed properly to the voters ire and perhaps a lot of things will change...........but it takes a crisis like this , brought about by the self interests of Parliament, to force changes on them. Perhaps, Boris, is part of that change along with BREXIT...........we'll have to wait and see. If BREXIT does happen then, after that, Boris will need to get a large increase in majority to get the Mandate to force the remainers to drop any attempts to undermine him by undemocratic methods, so it will take the voter to "Tango" with him to stop any attempts to renege on BREXIT.

As always, it's Joe Public that is left holding the Bill. Another example is HS2. Look at the cost of that, and now there's talk of ditching it.

All this speed. I want to get there yesterday. You see it every day. At one time workers got a meal break. Now it's choke yourself on a sandwich as you rush down the road. Sandwich in one hand, mobile in the other. Next it will be. Grab a broom and sweep up as you go. How can a broom be held? As Mr Mannering would say. Silly boy. Don't ask daft questions.
As a PS. At one time police had a station canteen or somewhere they could have a break. Now they have to use cafes etc. You always get the daft bugger who will approach and start asking quesions.
