    I think so, Freddy, as they are coming from countries only paying £10,000 to £15,000 if they're lucky, some countries are paying even less.:dunno:

    That, to me, Freddy, is Hype, and anti-immigration campaign not unlike the Remainers Campaign Fear. The man on the Street is not stupid and while some might have been influenced and think that the majority want to just be free of the EU. I can honestly saw that all the "shouting and screaming" on either side swayed me not from my original opinions and views.

      If I was a Nurse in a country paying me around £10,000 or less a year, Freddy, then knowing that I can get a far better job and pay in the UK, I would be heading for the UK.:dunno:

        Depends on who you are referring to, workers who come here and do seasonal work, will still come here as long as the pound doesn't drop too low. If it does they wont bother.

        Not sure what the £30,000 is referring to, is that earnings in the UK?
        Are we talking residents or migrant workers, or just illegals that the EU have let in and have a final aim of getting to the UK?

        There are so many different kinds of immigration.

            I reckon....

            1 - we have already reached agreement with the EU - which is acceptable to both sides - it needs to be ratified by the EU on the 17th and will then be presented to Parliament;

            2 - the current back stop has been removed;

            3 - Barney and BoJo are playing the media - Barney is saying the back stop is non negotiable - but will soon reveal that it has reluctantly been removed and this will be seen as a major break through - to encourage Parliament to vote for it;

            4 - Under the pressure of time and remain Tories being deselected - there will be trumpet fanfare as the new breakthrough deal is ratified;

            5 - Parliament get back to their day job;

            6 - the UK thrives outside the EU;

            7 - Germany goes into recession;

            8 - more EU members leave;

            9 - EU goes back to its original role as a trading block.

            10 - my name is Madame Simza.

                  Will the result of the German election yesterday influence the position of Germany over Brexit as the AfD seem to have supported Brexit?

                    JRM is normally meticulous in his responses, but in this instance I think he's made a big error of judgement.

                    'Doctor Who' would obviously know exactly what problems are going to occur in the future FFS!

                      Well, he did lose his "cool" somewhat, Scrungee, when I watched it on the BBC earlier, and I was suprised to see that. But he gives short shrift to those who are openly hostlle to the present situation and, in my opinion, the Doctor was, in my opinion, hostile and trying to cause some muck stirring. He may speak to commentators, etc, in a very polite way, but I think that once he's irritated the thin skin of civility desolves very quickly.

                        Quote just now from Boris:

                        "I want everyone to know there are no circumstances under which I would ask Brussels for a delay."

                        So even if a new Bill is passed - he will not extend - but call a general election - I assume.

                        Go Boris go :yay:- at last we have someone who will stand up for the UK.
