But if they are going to do that, they are going to do it directly from France to the UK, or if they are going to sail in a wee boat, they are going to come something close to the shortest route - they aren't going to go hundreds of miles in the opposite direction. Besides, the ones you are referring to are illegal immigrants, so no matter where they enter the country they will have the same illegal status (until such times as they have any asylum claim agreed/verified)

We're all awaiting those plans today Boris... they'll get rejected of course to loud derision, as seems the norm, but at least you have a plan!

Looks like Boris is going full no deal - after having seen his proposals for the back stop replacement

Predictable lamentable commentary from the political 'leaders'. None of them were going to support the proposal whatever it was. Fact is, you have to have some form of border in Ireland whatever form it takes. There is no way to avoid it.
They can turf out Boris if they want but an extension until they get a deal is not possible with borderless border and using the backstop is not getting us out is it? Why can't they see this?!?!?

And that Corbyn really gets on my nerves! "undermines the GF agreement" If someone comes up with a way to have a border without having a border it will rank alongside the immaculate conception. I see they've also moved from a vote of no confidence this week to...well whenever we can get rid of the government, y'know, at some point...

            "Why cant they see it?"

They can, all those going for not leaving without a deal are, underneath, remainers, but it suits them to hide behind something that they know will never happen, that way they appear to be wanting to uphold the result of the referendum but at the same time have no intention of allowing it to happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was all worked out that way with the EU long ago.

Were being taken for a ride.

              Just had a :ideaIPB: moment.

Boris in the last month or so has been talking about the bridge from N Ireland to Scotland idea that had all been forgotton about until recently.

So help fund the bridge knowing that Scotland will soon go independant and the problem about duties becomes Scotlands problem.

The Scots and English work out a deal thats mutually beneficial without the threat of the ira terrorism starting up again.

Scotland rejoins Europe and everything is hunkydory again. Sorted.:pathd:

Good idea, right up to your last sentence - the EU don't want Scotland back in, most likely due to the fact that the country is running at a massive deficit. The EU want the UK because we are one of only nine net contributors.

Ah but what your forgetting is that the European Union doesnt care about money. It hasnt had its accounts signed off for years. Its spends Billions on lovely shiney buildings for its humanoids to paper shuffle in and it stands by as Italy is about to slide into into economic oblivion.

Greece is still a basket case and Ireland only keeps its head above water because the American conglomerates use it as a place to hide their taxable earnings.

Its all about land mass and food and security . They need the fish, the oil, the wind and potential tidal energy.
If and its a big if , Scotland goes independent you can be sure Europe will allow them back in even if its just to piss off Westminster.

This really is getting on everyones t...nerves. Brits voted OUT. Three years later there is more and more haggling.

As I claim. I hold no political loyalty. Boris, like him or hate him. By Gad Sir' at least he is having a go. Surely it must come down to MONEY. Let's be honest. Perhaps two companies, argy bargying about like the EU and GB. IMO either side would by now have said. So you want out. OK...P.....off. or, We have had enough of this game....GOODBYE.

Then another thing. Why does our status change. One minute it's the EU vs The UK. Then the UK becomes four different countries.

Then all this hardship if we leave without a deal. 'DEAL' what deal. b Surely on the basis of a deal. We are commiting ourselves to changing a few things here and there but, allowing the EU to continue to hold us by the short and curly's
